Daily health rituals I refuse to live without

Squalene Oil

Squalene is an organic fatty compound that is found in a number of vegetables–including olive oil, but is usually extracted from a shark’s liver. Squalene accumulates in high concentrations in the skin where it quenches skin damaging oxygen radicals; for this reason it is believed to protect skin against signs of aging and even cancer. I use squaline oil at night-time before bed just on my face, neck and hands and the great thing about squaline oil is it doesn’t have a greasy after effect like other oils and moisturizerizes and has no smell to it what’s so ever. Although I have no signs of ageing I use squalene as prevention.

Olive oil

It no secret that olive oil works cosmetic miracles for skin but there is also many health benefits from using olive oil internally as well. I no longer use any butter when cooking and have adapted to cooking with olive oil. First thing every morning before I reach for my coffee or breakfast I down a tablespoon of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil—its sounds incredibly gross but when I’m traveling on to age 95 and have heart of an ox–gulping a tablespoon of olive oil once per day dosen’t/wont really be a concern that crosses my mind.  Olive oil is also known to be gentle on the digestive system and is a great detoxifying agent with 0% side effects.  Good quality olive oil contains valuable vitamins and  nutrients  and is loaded with antioxidants, which many believe help’s  protect the body from cancer not to mention that it raises good” cholesterol (HDL) while lowering “bad” cholesterol (LDL).

“Extra virgin” olive oil comes from the first pressing of olives, and retains the most flavor, aroma and vitamins. I prefer to by it cold pressed meaning that in the process of the pressing of olives no heat is used –which means all the antioxidants and vitamins are bottled and savored instead of being condensed by heat. In order to receive any health benefits or cosmetic benefits you need to purchase the extra virgin oil in its purest form otherwise there’s really no point.

Besides using the oil as a daily health ritual I use it as a skin moisturizer daily whether in the bath, as an after shower moisturizer, for hair treatments, nail treatments, using after a tan to fixing stuck zippers.

Coconut oil

Is one of the healthiest fatty compounded oils out there, many people choose to cook with this oil not only for it’s sweet taste but for its known health and healing benefits. Coconut oil is loaded with antioxidants, omega-6 and Lauric acid. I personally do not consume coconut oil only a daily basis but only because I never think to do so and am so ritualized on my olive oil. What I do use coconut oil for though is for facial moisturizing right when I step out of the shower, for hair treatments mixed with olive oil, homemade scrubs, mouthwash and many makeup remedies.

Coconut oil helps protect your skin from the aging effects of free radicals, and can help improve the skin’s appearance with its anti-aging benefits while repairing and creating firm elasticity. Again, for prevention of early aging.

Natren’s Healthy Trinity

Is a probiotic infused with 30 billion different colonies of helpful healthy and beneficial bacteria for your stomach and immune system. Since taking Natren’s probiotics I have noticed, healthy weightless, less stomach irritation, a massive drop in anxiety, flawless skin, regular digestion  and a super hero immune system that prevents me from falling ill. I literally can’t remember the last time I was sick. For any one suffering from any sort of stomach issues, related immune system disorders, depression, anxiety, skin issues or are just looking for the right supplementation for optimal health this is the answer you have been looking for. Just take 1 capsule in the morning and one capsule at night and your body will definitely thank you within hours. Hands down the best product I have ever invested in- a little spendy but worth the benifits.

Vita Logics Daily Extra with Iron

This is another supplement I swear by and will use daily for the rest of my life. It is a multivitamin that is packed with every bit of mineral content, herb and vitamin essentials your body could ever need. I am a vegetarian so I buy the bottle with added iron; if you are not a vegetarian and have no known health conditions you probably won’t need to buy a bottle with extra added in iron as it can be toxic in high levels of carnivore eaters. since taking Vita Locics Daily Extra I have noticed healthy weight loss, comfortable  managable energy and have noticed a change in mental awareness; meaning less depression and anxiety. Couldn’t live without this.

Green Juice

This is my number one must have. I swear by green juicing and its health effects. I have been juicing for over a year or two and have noticed and experienced many many benefits. Just imagine in-taking more than 10 cups + of vegetables in just one glass, none the less juiced which makes it supper easy to get your daily amount of veggies and greens.  Green juicing has curved my appetite, reduced cravings, aided in weightless, made my vision better, helped clear my skin, gave my skin a healthy radiant glow and has helped cure some stomach and digestive issues I have had. My usual green juicing ingredients include, 1 cup of celery, 2 cups of spinach, 1 cup of kale, 1 cup of carrots, 1 whole cucumber and sometimes a pear or apple. I try to stay in the vegetable family but sometimes a sweet pick me up does the trick when you have routinely done this for so long.

Willard water

Willard water is catalyst activated altered water that is known for keeping your body alkalinized and has cured many animal and human diseases. I typically add 1-2 teaspoons of the clear, tasteless substance to a quart of spring water and drink one glass daily, sometimes I add this water to my green juicing just for added benefits although taking it at any time in any manner will produce the same outcome. I also use Willard Water on my face when my complexion is red or sometimes in my bath as an Epsom salt substance. Oddly enough I also pour the supplement into my cat’s water as well and have noticed shinier fur and less hair balls- not to mention they haven’t been to the vet now in 3 years since no health conditions have arisen.

Happy

I have been employed by the same firm for 6 years, and although they have been for the most part- truly good to me I decided awhile back that I needed a change. At first glance a corporate law firm for first year associates, undergrads and administrational staff seems like the perfect placement, busy, upbeat, commercial and upstanding but when you’re in the reality of the practice none the less real estate, probate and government affairs..blah.. it’s a completely different story (not to mention boring..) and it wont last very long if you havent gone through intensive boot camp training for sociopathy.

I admit,  since I moved to Vegas I have a hard time grasping  commercial/corporate/Las Vegas Bollywood types of personality’s. I’ve always typically held mutual grounds with every one I meet. I can see eye to eye with pretty much everyone in trying situations but that pro/con side of me drifted further and further into the abyss over the past 6 years.  Instead of dabbling into the details of what a corporate firm lifestyle vs. a small localised firm is like just imagine working with Patty Hughes times 20 + administrational staff who typically are worse. If your from a small city like me, where the Golden Rules, etiquette and mannerisms are instilled you wont last for very long without breaking down and questioning moral and humanity. I eventually evolutionised into an introverted hermit that stayed under radar to obtain mental stability and free from bullying until the last few months. Eventually your bound to be spotted by flocks of seagulls; there’s just no escaping. If any one who is reading this really knows me– they know that 6 years of complete silence and introversion from me can only be suppressed for so long before I crack. So before I completely fell off my rocker I put in my two weeks and accepted a new position at a smaller firm in which I am completely ecstatic about! I start the beginning of February. :) As corny and brown-nosing as this sounds I can not wait to be a part of an actual team, I cant wait to contribute my thoughts, mind and work ethics to a new company that is equally excited to have me aboard. Shocking concept humans treating humans like…humans? I must be dreaming.
For the first time in a really long time I am happy. I’m not only happy because I’m getting away from a corporate lifestyle but because I have worked so hard and this new position I accepted is not only higher in pay but the tranquil calming enviroment is a double win win and I can hardly stand it . Things finally seem to be adding up and running smoothly for me. Since the beginning of this year (2012)  everything just seems to be going in the right direction for me. New House, new job, new friends, winning a jack pot and closure from so many tidings in my past that have forever haunted me. It almost seems to good to be true. Even today something that normally would have upset me filled me with endless joy and complete satisfaction.

This past year I have really dug into the depths of who I am as a person and for the longest time, possibly my whole life I’ve hated myself. I have surrounded my self with low people, users, abusers, manipulators, cheaters and stressors because I felt that’s what I deserved but I was so wrong and I can finally see that for the first time.Being alone & having no family forces you to survive, to overcome, to learn to become your own teacher and to reflect on literally everything. I consider my many lessons well learned. It’s a shame I have  suppressed it for so long. I’ve spent so much time stirring up and evoking old emotions and memories based upon what and who I use to be-but what I learned is I will never be that person again. And I’m finally ok with that;  in fact I love that and wholly except it. I Love the person that I have become, strong, smart, independent, witty, humorous, cautious, dogmatic and very introverted.  So as narcissistic as this/that sounds I would also like to add in that I fucking deserve this new job! I’ve worked my ass off for it for the past 6 years and all the things I have.  2012 is going to be a fucking fantastic year, and I’m fully ready to bask in what ever good karma it brings.

If we can see our state of mind as a disease we find can find a cure. We don’t have to suffer any longer. First we need the truth to open the emotional wounds, take the poison out, and heal the wounds completely. How do we do this? We must forgive those who we feel have wronged us, not because they deserve to be forgiven. But because we Love our self’s so much we don’t want to keep paying for injustice. Forgiveness is the only way to heal.

suffering makes you feel safe only because you know it so well.

Tidings,Blessings and a New Year to come

What changes have there been in your life since this time last year? Take a good look at your life and think about the events that have taken place. What have you accomplished? What decisions have you made? And most importantly, how much you have grown as a person? Try to make changes by following your intuition. Even though it seems stressful and sometimes painful, change means growth.

I have kept the above horoscope for over 4 years in my task section in outlook as a reminder when the year is ending or beginning to ask myself those very questions. It’s always a smart idea to reflect on changes and what you have accomplished; as small as your achievements may be there still achievements and you should take the time to recognize that each small step goes a distance in the end and you should pat your self on the back. This past year has been very interesting for me. I am so grateful for the friends and the family that I have because without them this year would have been more trying then I can imagine, but I give this overall year a 5 star rating-I made it, and am grateful from all the experiences and lessons learned and I’m glad I never have to repeat them.

The 48 Laws of Power by: Robert Greene

History-Theory and Social Philosophy are among many things that I deeply enjoy reading and researching. I learn something new in every book that I read-whether its fictional or some disgusting romance novel I secretly keep hidden away from reality in my bedside table drawer–life lessons and facts are scattered across the pages and that’s what keeps me interested. Comparison and identifying relations are equally what holds the reader’s attention.

I picked this book up because I was told it was a life changing read, but I have to be honest– it wasnt very life changing.
In a probably considered crude review —it was too much. Over the top, amoral, opportunistic and even sharply cunning to the point of almost throwing the book across the room and burning it. I’ve never disliked a book with so much over thought and emotion. The fact this book was published, is open and available to the public is disturbing, although motivation is primarily the key which many people lack.

Referenced in so many of my posts, my internal thought’s and spoken comments, I believe in hard work and working your way to means.  This book is a guide for cheaters and bullies and anyone who wishes to obtain power over others.

I must admit  I submissively agreed upon its wrath of cleverness at first glance; who doesn’t think of  some of these things? I thought to my self, “my god-this is ruthless but I bet I could do it”. Even still at this moment I fully agree that  the 48 laws will and can work but at what price?
My greatest quest (carrier wise) isn’t about holding power over others or holding any power over anything –it’s about holding ownership of self-worth and reaching an attainable carrier and maybe even social goal I can be proud of –but only that. Anything other than that wish/hope/goal  is just uncomfortable for me.

I consider this book dangerous in the hands of certain readers; this book is a power tool or a power trip for the ones that need revenge or dominating control to fulfill whats lacking. In my opinion the below 48 Laws could just be jumbled up into one law –Bullying. If you can fully agree to each one of these laws, you’re un-healthy and should consider what’s really at the heart of why you want power to begin with. You’re a manipulator and deceiver.

I’ve learned now, more than ever that hard work, a perfect attitude and attendance does pay off — but it goes hand in hand with the phrase “nice guys finish last”, If you’re not a nice guy or are tired of playing that role-this book is for you-go ahead, cheat your way to the top exalt yourself and dismiss others along the way;  in the end its your face and your mind that your deceiving. I’m ok with a slow long jog to the top if that means I can keep my soul.

Some of the below laws are obviously common sense guidelines that everyone should acknowledge but out of all 48 laws I only see just a few that remain understandable.

1. Never outshine the master
2. Never put too much trust in friends; learn how to use enemies.
3. Conceal your intentions.
4. Always say less than necessary.
5. So much depends on reputation. Guard it with your life.
6. Court attention at all costs.
7. Get others to do the work for you, but always take the credit.
8. Make other people come to you; use bait if necessary.
9. Win through your actions, never through argument.
10. Infection: avoid the unhappy and unlucky
11. Learn to keep people dependent on you.
12. Use selective honesty and generosity to disarm your victim.
13. When asking for help, appeal to people’s self-interests, never to their mercy or gratitude.
14. Pose as a friend, work as a spy.
15. Crush your enemy totally.
16. Use absence to increase respect and honor.
17. Keep others in suspended terror: cultivate an air of unpredictability.
18. Do not build fortresses to protect yourself. Isolation is dangerous.
19. Know who you’re dealing with; do not offend the wrong person
20. Do not commit to anyone.
21. Play a sucker to catch a sucker: play dumber than your mark.
22. Use the surrender tactic: transform weakness into power.
23. Concentrate your forces.
24. Play the perfect courtier.
25. Re-create yourself.
26. Keep your hands clean.
27. Play on people’s need to believe to create a cult like following.
28. Enter action with boldness.
29. Plan all the way to the end.
30. Make your accomplishments seem effortless.
31. Control the options: get others to play with the cards you deal.
32. Play to people’s fantasies.
33. Discover each man’s thumbscrew.
34. Be royal in your fashion: act like a king to be treated like one.
35. Master the art of timing.
36. Disdain things you cannot have: Ignoring them is the best revenge.
37. Create compelling spectacles
38. Think as you like but behave like others.
39. Stir up waters to catch fish.
40. Despise the free lunch. (not a problem)
41. Avoid stepping into a great man’s shoes.
42. Strike the shepherd and the sheep will scatter.
43. Work on the hearts and minds of others.
44. Disarm and infuriate with the mirror effect.
45. Preach the need for change, but never reform too much at once.
46. Never appear perfect.
47. Do not go past the mark you aimed for; in victory, learn when to stop.
48. Assume formlessness.

Bill Whittle on Rich Man vs. Poor Man-Stats

Interesting.. besides the fact that I don’t agree in participating in either political party-this perhaps is one of the best videos on understanding the mentality of the Rich Man vs. Poor man dilemma that faces America, England and Europe. The fact that “some Americans” consider America’s poverty at third world country status is disgusting and illogical. There are many sad stories to contribute to popular speculation but nothing can be held in comparison to other counties such as Burma, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan or Tibet.
